This idyllic shorefront community feels like a small town in the country. Yet, it is conveniently situated just 12 miles southwest of downtown Denver and minutes from Main Street Littleton with its charming shops and restaurants. What a wonderful location!
Bow Mar gets its name from the two bodies of water in the town. “Bow” for the 100 acre Bowles Lake and “Mar” for Marston Reservoir. Bowles Lake, with its beach, picnic area and tennis courts, is the center of the community. There is also a serene 47 acre private meadow for “Bow Marsians” to explore. Residents enjoy swimming, sailing, paddling, fishing, tennis and ice skating. Along with annual neighborhood events at the beach like the 4th of July barbeque, Father’s Day brunch, Santa at the beach, concerts, sunset dinners with family and neighbors, movies, Carp Day fishing tournament, hockey tournaments, tennis leagues and tournaments, and sailing regattas. There is also an annual black-tie winter dance- featuring a show put on by the most talented neighbors. Even the local dogs have their own “beach” area to enjoy.
Marston Reservoir teems with wildlife and framed by sweeping, front-range views. These striking, unobstructed views feature Long’s Peak to the north, Mount Evans to the west and Pike’s Peak to the south. Homes overlooking Marston Reservoir are treated to brilliant dramatic sunsets most evenings.
Incorporated in 1958, The Town of Bow Mar is run by its residents: a local mayor and six trustees. There is also a very active, voluntary homeowners association, Bow Mar Owners Inc. (BMOI). Bowles Lake is privately owned by BMOI . Currently there is an initial cost of $7500 to join and an annual fee of $1150.
Life is truly exceptional in Bow Mar- there is no other place like it!
